also, big sur is amazing, can't wait to see photos from your drive. i don't remember exactly where on the route it is but if you are planning on camping along the way, Nacimiento Campground is magical. It has a little creek and is about 10 miles inland from the 1 so it feels super secluded and because it's a higher altitude it gets super hot early...
